LETTER FROM HYPERTHERM

Despite mixed signals on the economic front, our customers are entering 2013 with an optimistic view of things to come. We too are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead and the addition of waterjet cutting, brought about by our recent acquisition of AccuStream, to our offering of cutting technologies.

Waterjet is an excellent complement to our existing plasma and laser cutting technology. While it is a much slower cutting process for metal than plasma or laser, it has the benefit of cutting any material with high precision and outstanding cut quality; and since it is a non-thermal cutting technology, there is no heat-affected zone.

In leveraging our combined engineering teams and control platforms (CNC, THC, and CAM software), we know we can more quickly develop our cutting technologies and applications, bringing you not only increased choices, but also enhanced performance, process automation, and ease of use.

We are already seeing this in our plasma and laser technologies, with the increasing pace of new cross-platform offerings that automate critical setup parameters to give you consistent output and reduced training time. These technologies include True Hole for bolt-ready holes, True Bevel for dramatically reduced bevel set-up time, and Rapid Part for doubling your throughput.

We also look forward to bringing you added choice and one-stop convenience by providing the optimum cutting technology—whether plasma, laser, or waterjet—for your particular cutting application.

Sincerely,

Evan Smith, President
